Sahasra Chakilam, Executive News Editor

Sahasra Chakilam is a senior and the Executive News Editor of The Sidekick.

She joined The Sidekick after watching Gilmore Girls and being inspired by Rory Gilmore’s work ethic and passion for journalism. Through the program, she has been able to develop a love for storytelling and connect with her community on a deeper level through reporting. 

Outside of The Sidekick, she enjoys consuming all sorts of media. Her favorite music genres are R&B and indie pop, she has rewatched Crazy Rich Asians and How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days maybe 15 times and cannot ever pass on a 2000s teen drama.

The Coppell hockey team celebrates after defeating Northwest, 6-4, winning the Texas Amatuer Hockey Association (TAHA) Division 2A state championship on Jan. 29 at Children’s Health StarCenter in Mansfield. The Cowboys end its season ranking seventh in the AT&T Metroplex High School Hockey League varsity silver level.

Proposition A of the bond package totals $269,548,000 and includes renovations to all CISD campuses, safety and security features at all schools and buildings, labs and STEM spaces at middle schools, a new fine arts rehearsal space at CMS North and CHS and CTE and STEM labs at CHS. The proposition also plans for renovations of the auditorium at CHS9, the purchase of school buses and capital equipment as well as funding for network security and telecommunications infrastructure.
