Cedar Hill, TX – The area meet for District 7-6A and 8-6A was moved up to Wednesday because of the impending bad weather, and there were a lot of fast times in the meet at Cedar Hill. The Coppell track and field teams fought hard on the road leading to regional competition.

The Cowboys finished fourth with 65 points and the Cowgirls finished fifth overall with 63 points. Coppell’s 17 qualifying athletes will compete in the Regional Meet to be held May 1-2 at University of Texas at Arlington.

The following are the track & field athletes who qualified and are moving on to the 2015 Region 1 Track Meet:

Cowgirls:

Sierra Andres – 400m

Rebecca Fuselier – pole vault

Rachel Johnson – shot put

Paola Lozano – pole vault

Grace Barden – 800m

Lauren Cunningham, Bailey Bedichek, Payton Kirk, Adaiwu Nwaiwu – 4×200 relay

Lauren Cunningham, Bailey Bedichek, Grace Barden, Sierra Andres – 4×400 relay

Cowboys:

Alex Abalos – 400m

Zach Dicken – 400m

Matt Difrancesco – 100m

Collin Echols – discus

Esere Nesiama – pole vault

Alan Huo – 800m

Marcus Mitchell – triple jump

Chad Williams – pole vault
