Cowgirls seeking return to win column against Wildcats

Eirene Park
Coppell junior Carly Mayer pitches during the fourth inning against Flower Mound at the Coppell ISD Baseball/Softball Complex on Friday. The Cowgirls play Plano Senior on Friday.

Coming off of four consecutive losses, the Coppell softball team aims to secure a victory against Plano.

Coppell plays against Plano at Coppell ISD Baseball/Softball Complex on Friday at 7 p.m.

“We just have to know what defense we are supposed to be in, then pitchers throw a strike and we need to execute that defense,” Coppell coach Robbie Moen said.

Pitching is key for the Cowgirls.

“If our pitchers can locate their pitches and make it more difficult for the slappers to execute their game plan, that will put us on the advantage,” Moen said. “Then, it’s really going to come down to the play of our corner infielders, our third basemen and our first basemen.”
