On Tuesday, the Coppell baseball team continues district play against Lewisville at the Coppell ISD Baseball/Softball Complex at 7 p.m..
“They are a scrappy team,” Coppell coach Armando Garza said. “People may not think of Lewisville baseball as a powerhouse but they can steal games.”
After the Cowboys narrowly beat Little Elm 2-1 last Friday in extra innings, Garza is pushing Coppell to strengthen its offense.
“The offensive part has been our main focus since that is what we lacked last year,” Garza said. “We’ve been focusing on consistently getting to the weight room, getting our guys stronger and working on our hitting.”
Garza looks to maneuver around Lewisville through maintaining a confident offense.
“I’ve told them to be themselves,” Garza said. “If we play Cowboy baseball we can take care of business.”
