Coming off a sweep last week against Denton Braswell 3-0 (25-13, 25-16, 25-12), Coppell volleyball hosts Flower Mound Marcus at 6:30 p.m. Friday in CHS Arena. In its last District 5-6A match before playoffs, the team plans to showcase all the hard work and preparation that went into this season.
“We beat Marcus in the first round of district this season, but we are not satisfied with that,” Ross said. “We want to make sure we beat them at home too. Our strategy is always to execute our game plan and when we are able to stick to that we can beat anyone.”
According to Ross, middle and right side hitters will be helpful to put down Marcus’s defense.
“Our middles and right sides need to help take some of the offensive load from our outside hitters,” Ross said. “They have some very smart hitters, and defensively we have to stay our best so we don’t give up easy points, offensively we need to put the ball away from every spot on the court so our hitters can create space and unease on the other side of the net.”
Ross hopes fans will show out.
“With it being the last match of district play, we are hoping for a big crowd and lots of noise and excitement,” Ross said.
