The crowd watched anxiously during the third set as the two teams were back-to-back competing for the ball.
On Friday at CHS Arena, Hebron defeated the Cowgirls, 3-0 (25-19, 25-14, 28-26).
Despite the loss in the District 5-6A match, the game was closely contested.
During the first set, the tension picks up amongst the Cowgirls as they tie 15-15 with the Hawks.

A Coppell hit landed out of bounds on Hebron’s court, leading Hebron to win the first set, 25-19.
“If we had more energy at the beginning of the game, I think we would have done better,” Coppell senior middle blocker Zoe Olson said. “This was a good wake up call for us, so that we can go into more matches starting stronger right off the bat.”
Hebron took the lead in the second set, and as the ball hit the ground on the Cowgirl’s court, the Cowgirls faced another loss, 25-14.
“We were working hard, but we were just checked out a lot of times,” Coppell freshman outside hitter Bree Carethers said. “I think we could have locked back in and made sure that we finished strong in the match.”
The third set was fierce.
The points were ranking up back-to-back, with no clear distinction between the leading team.
Coppell junior defensive specialist Hailey Chew cleared the back row to tie Hebron at 15.
The match continues until Coppell and Hebron tie 24-24, leading to a deuce.
Coppell wins a point and leads 25-24, the crowd erupting in cheers. Hebron takes over the lead by two points, 26-28, leading them to a 3-0 win.
“Overall, we did a good job staying consistent in fighting really hard,” Pehl said. “We didn’t pull out the win, but I think we definitely learned a lot from this game and we’re just going to get better.”
