Both teams wrestled on Friday and Saturday at The Berry Center in Cypress Houston. The Wrestling Championships settles four seniors in their final year in the program.
Coppell senior Hailey Kennedy (120) wrestled in the quarterfinal, but lost to Katy Paetow senior Aylin Pagan by decision, 5-4. Kennedy wrestled for fifth place but fell short to Rockwall Heath freshman Tiana Crawford by decision, 8-4.
Coppell junior Elizabeth Cummings (125) wrestled through all consultation rounds, but was pinned in the fifth place match by Prosper senior Jaelyn Skelley.
Coppell sophomore Bella Malcolm (135) wrestled to the quarterfinal, but lost to Klein Oak senior Josephine Clarke by decision, 5-3. Malcolm wrestled for fifth place, but lost by decision to Clarke by decision, 5-1.
Coppell senior Trinitee Hobbs was pinned in the first period, but in the second period, Katy Paetow junior Celeste Gonzalez pinned and ended the meet for Hobbs.
Coppell senior Elizabeth Urick wrestled to consultation round two, but was pinned by Cypress Ridge junior Elizabeth Castro.
