On Thursday, the Coppell girls lacrosse team plays McKinney on Coppell Middle School North at 7 p.m..

With a new coaching staff, Coppell opened the season with a 19-13 victory over Dallas Ursuline Academy on Feb. 21.

“This was the first game with new coaches,” Coppell senior Liberty McConnell said. “We’ve had these coaches before, but our head coach left on maternity leave. Our two new head coaches have been impactful in focusing on our fundamentals.”

The team continues to focus on its fundamentals in preparation for McKinney.

“We’re set with very offensive plays,” McConnell said. “For defense, we want to have no shooting space. Shooting space guarantees the other team a shot, so we want to make sure that doesn’t happen.”
