Coppell senior forward Gareth Meza Murillo dribbles against Azle at Buddy Echols Field on Jan. 19. The Cowboys plays Hebron at 7:30 p.m. at Buddy Echols Field on Tuesday.

It has been a hectic few weeks for the Coppell boys soccer team. Despite snowballing stress from frequent games, injuries and harsh weather, the Cowboys are leaning on its team camaraderie when it hosts Hebron on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at Buddy Echols Field.

“Their bodies are bearing the nicks, dings, bruises and soreness that come with playing lots of games with little rest, so we need to overcome that in order to win,” Coppell boys soccer coach Stephen Morris said.

To maximize their efforts, the team relies on its captains Jacob Campbell, Chaz Null, Srikar Mulukutla, Anson Skorka and Sam Stone to direct the players and encourage them to work collaboratively. Watching the offensive nature of Hebron’s team, the Cowboys are focusing on how to maximize their speed, and refine their free kicks and corner kicks.

“We keep building upon our good moments and try to stretch them out longer and longer so we can come away with good results consistently,” Morris said.
