Got You Covered is a series from The Sidekick detailing events involving Coppell High School and Coppell ISD happening this week. It will be posted every Monday for the remainder of the 2023-24 school year.
  • The Got Books Club hosts a meeting at Cozby Library and Community Commons Tuesday from 6:30-7:30 p.m.
  • Cowboy Theatre Company  holds auditions for “9 to 5” today through Friday.  
  • On Tuesday, the Animal Services Advisory and Appeals Board holds a meeting at City of Coppell Animal Shelter at 5:45 p.m.
  • CHS Band competes at the UIL Region 31 Marching Competition at Pennington Field in Bedford on Tuesday at 1:45 p.m.
  • On Sunday, Coppell Community Orchestra presents the fall show “Spooktacular” at Coppell Arts Center in the main hall at 3 p.m.

Coppell ISD Board of Trustees recognize Coppell Band director Kimberly Shuttlesworth and Coppell High School senior Pia Lala, senior Edward Yang, senior Nidhi Shashi, senior Pavithra Vijaykumar and senior Siddharth Bellam for Coppell Band’s exemplary performance at UIL Class 6A State Championships on Monday at Vonita White Administration Building. Sahasra Chakilam is a senior and the Executive News Editor of The Sidekick. She joined The Sidekick after watching Gilmore Girls and being inspired by Rory Gilmore’s work ethic and passion for journalism. Through the program, she has been able to develop a love for storytelling and connect with her community on a deeper level through reporting.  Outside of The Sidekick, she enjoys consuming all sorts of media. Her favorite music genres are R&B and indie pop, she has rewatched Crazy Rich Asians and How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days maybe 15 times and cannot ever pass on a 2000s teen drama.
