In the crowded hallways of Coppell High School, you can spot senior and The Sidekick staff writer Anushka Joshi’s smile shining bright from a mile away.
The first thing I noticed about Anushka is her radiating energy filled with positivity. Although we knew each other in our class period, we really met through a mutual friend. From our interactions, I learned Anushka is quiet, observant and extremely supportive. When she is not listening to endless yap sessions, you can catch her eating a Chobani flip yogurt (Strawberry and Cheesecake flavored, of course) for breakfast or listening to ASMR baking videos.
Those videos influenced her to start baking and led to her making, dare I say, the best strawberry and white chocolate chip cookies I have had (which I indulge in every chance I get).
She is also a huge fan of Tyler The Creator. Any time the topic of concerts comes up, she takes the opportunity to mention her excitement about getting to go to his concert, and, I will admit, am definitely a little jealous.
Above all, Anushka is a hard worker. For every assignment she takes on, whether grinding information for debate tournaments or assignments for The Sidekick, she never backs down, even when things do not go the way she hoped for. She shows up to school every day ready with positivity and a smile on her face.
Anushka plans on studying communications at the University of Texas at San Antonio as part of the CAP program, interested in pursuing law. I have no doubt that whatever life throws at her, she will overcome every obstacle with her determination.
Anushka leaves behind an optimistic legacy, and I wish her the best of luck for future endeavors. I will miss you, Anushka and your strong advocacy for the best Chobani flavor.
