Lost winds down, main characters die

Rebecca Neumann
Staff Writer

SPOILER ALERT!
On the latest episode of Lost, “The Candidate”, four main characters died. Even for Lost, that’s pretty gut-wrenching.

This turn of events comes after the revelation that one of six characters was destined to take the place of the island’s mysterious leader, Jacob. Two of the ‘candidates’ were killed off in the last episode.

Despite warnings from the producers that death was to come in season 6, it was a shock that such fan favorites such as Jin (Daniel Dae Kim), Sun (Yunjin Kim) and Sayid (Naveen Andrews) ended their journey on the island. It was especially sad because Jin and Sun, who were married) had just been reunited after three years apart.

Anyway, good news comes to Lost fans that the series finale will be two and a half hours long on May 23. Originally it would have only been two hours, but the producers lobbied to extend the last show.

So even though Lost fans may be upset about the recent killings off, we should all remember that the producers still care about the show. Fans shouldn’t give up hope yet either.
