On Saturday, around 6:00 a.m. while many were still snug in their beds, Coppell High School choir students woke to get to the high school for a long bus ride to DeSoto High School. The students had been preparing since the summer with rigorous choir camps, after school practices and hours of singing in their bedrooms, nit picking at every detail, making sure every tone, every word and every pronunciation was spot on.
The Texas Music Educators Association competition is an annual ordeal, and has always been a competition of which Coppell has excelled.
We had 52 students advance!
Here is the list of students and their chair. The zones only mean that there were many people for that voice part, and it was separated into zones (or rooms).
