My name is Thomas Hair, and I will be the editor of the Opinions Section this year. As a senior, this will be my third year on staff but my first as a section editor. I am thrilled by what The Sidekick has the potential to do this year. The entire staff is devoted to producing the best product possible and making The Sidekick a trustworthy news source.

Starting today, another school year is upon us. The last rays of summer sunshine have faded away and the halls of Coppell High School are once again flooded with students. Every single one of these students has a fresh opinion, a unique perspective, a story to tell. As the Opinions Editor for the imminent 2012-2013 school year, it is my duty to make sure that these opinions, perspectives and stories are delivered to our valued readers with utmost quality and professionalism in an intriguing fashion.

I have made it my goal to make the Opinions Section the part of The Sidekick that readers pick up the paper for, not the part they skip over. I want run stories that people haven’t read a thousand times before, stories that will make people see issues in a different light.

Please join the rest of The Sidekick staff and me for what could be one of the best years this award-winning publication has ever had. Who knows what the big stories will be this year? When they occur, we’ll be ready!
