A week ago, Denton Guyer defeated Coppell. 35-21. This week, the Cowboys seek to start another district winning streak after its first defeat since 2022.
On Friday at 7 p.m., Coppell plays Little Elm at the Little Elm ISD Stadium in its first game after the loss.
After the outcome of last Friday’s game, the Cowboys look to get back in the win column.
“It’s not so much about our opponent. It’s about us,” Coppell football coach Antonio Wiley said, “It’s about what we did for them.”
One of the main goals for Coppell in Friday’s game is stronger defense.
“Special teams, not tackling well, not being physical,” Wiley said. “Those are the things we need to emphasize if we plan on being a really good football team and playing deep in the playoffs.”
The Guyer loss has not deterred the team but rather refocused it in the right direction for the game against Little Elm.
“We are going to find a way to get back on track and win a football game,” Wiley said.
