Starting off October with a scare or two

Ashleigh Heaton
Editor-in-Chief

October is starting, and you know what that means: Halloween. For some, haunted houses are the best way to indulge in the season of frights and terrors – for others, it’s an opportunity often skipped. Whatever the case, if you want to get your spook on this Halloween season, you’d better start going now to skip the long lines. Here are a few attractions to get you started:

Dallas ScareGrounds: 3 haunted houses, open Fridays, Saturdays and Halloween from 7:30 p.m. until at least 1 a.m., weeknights from 7:30 p.m. until at least 11 p.m. Festival grounds open at 7 p.m. 2001 Irving Boulevard, Dallas, TX.

Cutting Edge Haunted House: World’s largest walk through haunted house, located in an abandoned meat packing plant. See website for hours of operation. 1701 E. Lancaster Avenue, Fort Worth, TX.

SCREAMS Halloween Theme Park: 5 attractions, runs Friday and Saturday October 1 – 31. $24.99 per person, all ages.
