John Mayer, I forgive you

Mayer apologized for his words last week. (MCT Campus)

John Mayer seems to be a trending topic in almost every entertainment story that is released today. His music is always brought up, his lifestyle is always criticized, and now his words are being thrown at him over and over.

Mayer in my opinion is a very successful artist. I enjoy his music because it is simple, classic, and timeless. His guitar playing skills are superb, and he will continue to grow.

But of course, John Mayer has let his lips run loose once again. In an interview with Playboy magazine, Mayer said some things he regrets. Mayer is quoted saying the “n” word and describing his love life with former girlfriends Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Aniston.

“I am sorry that I used the word. And it’s a shame that I did because the point I was trying to make was in the exact opposite spirit of the word itself,” Mayer told press following his interview.

Mayer made his official apology over his twitter feed in lengthy messages such as the one above.

My opinion on Mayer is damaged but I still do believe in Mayer. I believe that just like all celebrities that he can recover from this. This will have an effect on his personal life from now on but he will recover.

Mayer has promised to “quit the media game” and return to doing what he initially became famous for: playing guitar.
