As anyone who has been following “American Idol” Season 9 knows, a new revolution in music has taken place.
Sixty-three year old war veteran Larry Platt thrilled viewers with his self-written audition song “Pants on the Ground,” complete with a rhythmic beat and unique dance moves. Though he was not sent through to Hollywood week, Platt has definitely made a name for himself. Less than 24 hours after his audition on “American Idol,” his song was playing across YouTube, and a Facebook group had been created in his honor.
The Minnesota Vikings even did a “‘Pants on the Ground’ Chant” after their victory over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. The song rocked the nation when Platt appeared on “The View” on Monday, and T-shirts were printed for fans to purchase.
With former “Idol” contestant William Hung’s musical success ringing in our ears, we will now wait for the newest record to be released from artist Larry Platt—rumored to be signed with Jake Records—whose goal is to simply “get these pants up.”
