Looking for something to do this weekend? There are a couple of interesting events taking place in Coppell this weekend that are sure to satisfy.
The annual St. Ann’s Carnival starts today and it will run through this weekend. As always, rides, games and music will be featured at the carnival, which is being held in the St. Ann’s parking lot on Sandy Lake Rd. and Samuel Blvd.. Phil Stacey, a top 5 finisher on American Idol in 2007, will be performing tonight live at the carnival. You can also meet Stacey before the carnival, as he will be signing autographs at 4:00pm at the Lewisville Barnes & Noble. The St. Ann’s Carnival opens at 5:00 p.m. tonight and will run until 11:00 p.m.. The schedule for the rest of the weekend can be found below.
People will also have the chance to celebrate the cultures of Coppell this weekend, as there will be a showcase of heritage tomorrow at Town Center Plaza, the Festival of Nations. The event starts at 11 a.m. and will run until 2 p.m.. People can experience food and dances from different heritages, and people of all ages are invited. CHS’s own Junior World Affairs Council will also be present at the festival. It should be a great chance for the people of Coppell to experience the many different cultures and customs that are practiced with in Coppell.
