The Coppell Film Society will take on the classic comedy drama The Great Dictator this Friday after school. The movie was written, directed, produced, composed, and starred Charlie Chaplin. The film revolves around an unnamed soldier in World War I and his rise to power in the times between the two World Wars. The film is widely known as one of the best and earliest parodies of Adolf Hitler, and at the time of its release in 1940, the United States was still at peace with Nazi Germany. The Great Dictator won 5 Academy Awards. If you have an interest in joining the club, you can go to the Coppell Film Society Facebook group or just attend the screening on Friday at 4:00 pm.
