This past Saturday, on Oct. 31, many teenagers transitioned from trick-or-treating to going to movie theaters to see the latest horror flicks. Movie theaters everywhere were able to deliver these thrills, as numerous movies were definitely made to scare this Halloween weekend.
Even though the Michael Jackson documentary “This Is It” prevailed over all other horror movies, four movies seemed to shine through over the weekend.
Paranormal Activity triumphed as the number two movie of the weekend, raking in 16.5 million this weekend alone. This 16.5 million further adds to the 84.8 million dollars this film has earned in total, which is surprising due to its very low production budget.
Saw VI came in as the number five movie of the weekend with 5.6 million, and the creepy Cirque du Freak came in at number ten. Zombieland also followed at the number twelve spot, even though that movie focuses more on humor than true scares.
Even though the Halloween weekend has passed, these movies are still sure to make a scare, no matter the occassion.
