“It’s always hard to beat a good team twice,” Coppell coach Craig Able said.
On Friday at 7:30 p.m., the Coppell girls soccer team plays Flower Mound at Buddy Echols Field. The Cowgirls lead with an overall 17-2-1 record and 10-2 district record.
For the team, this match entails a level of intensity built from past matches.
“Flower Mound is a good team,” Able said. “They are fighting for their lives to get in one of the playoff spots.”
Furthermore, the match will help determine Coppell’s place in District 5-6A, requiring the team to not only play with intent, but also with diligence.
“They’re going to play great, and they’re going to play hard, because that’s just who they are as kids,” Able said. “We’re trying to claim a district championship. We know we have to get a win to make that happen.”
