**SPOLIER ALERT**
Last night concluded the six episode season of AMC’s new hit show, “The Walking Dead”. If you’ve watched the first five episodes, you know that main character, Rick Grimes, was united with his family and a larger group of survivors. The reunion came with it’s share of hardships including clashing opinions between Grimes and his friend Shane and telling one of the survivors that his brother was left in the zombie infested city, handcuffed to a roof.
After the groups camp is attacked by a hoard of zombies, the survivors decide to leave camp and head into the city where they are hoping to find help and some answers at the CDC building set up there. The finale starts off with the doors to the CDC opening and the survivors going inside to be greeted by the only doctor left at the facility, a man by the name of Jenner.
The luck of the survivors seems to be turning around now; they have a safe place to stay, hot water to take showers and plenty of food. When Shane starts to question what happened to all the doctors there, Jenner reveals that most left or committed suicide and that the zombie epidemic is everywhere with the last country to hold out being France.
Things take a turn for the worse when Jenner informs everyone that after all the gas fueling the power in the building runs out, the building will shut down and initiate a full “decontamination” process that includes the air in the building essentially turning to fire and destroying everything inside. With the doors in lockdown, Grimes and the group try to convince Jenner to let them out and finally do with very little time left to get out until the building goes up in flames.
One of the survivors, Jacqui, chooses to stay behind, knowing there isn’t anything left out there for her. Andrea also chooses to stay behind, but her friend Dale is determined to convince her to leave. Grimes and the rest of the group meanwhile are trying to find a way out of the building. The doors are still locked and bullets and chairs are proving useless when it comes to breaking windows. Finally, after blowing up the window with a grenade Grimes picked up in an earlier episode, they get outside and to their vehicles.
The last scenes of the episode see Dale and Andrea running from the building before the whole thing goes up in a fiery explosion. Safe in their cars, the group drives away, leaving the audience to wonder where they’re headed until next season.
The creator’s of the show plan on premiering next season on Halloween, just like the first season was premiered this year.
