The 67th Venice Film festival started Wednesday with the preview of Darren Aronofsky’s Black Swan. The thriller, about a ballet dancer who feels threatened when a rival ballerina comes in to compete for her spot as lead in “Swan Lake”, features actors including Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis and Vincent Cassel. It has recieved mixed reviews from critics, Entertainment Weekly calling it a “love-it-or-hate-it” movie. Black Swan is set for a release date on December 1 of this year.
Other movies featured at this year’s festival include Sofia Coppola’s Somewhere and Casey Affleck’s documentary about brother in law Joaquin Phoenix titled I’m Still Here.
The festival, which began on the 1st, will end on the 11th of September.
