For Kayla Brown, assistant principal for students 10th-12th grade, last names F-K, this is her first year at CHS. Although she is new to CHS, she is not new to jobs in education. This is Brown’s 9th year in education, having been an elementary teacher for four years and an administrator for the past five years.
Kayla Brown’s main responsibilities are building & maintenance, facility requests, discipline and attendance for her alpha. She also is in charge of the Teacher of the Year and Teacher of the Month elections, as well as other awards regarding the staff of CHS.
Although assistant principal Kayla Brown has accomplished a lot in the field of education, she obtains amazing accomplishments elsewhere. She has written a book called Take the Blindfold Off, which goes along with the nation-wide feeding program that she founded, The Backpack Buddy Club.
ABC News also named her ABC Person of the Year in 2006. Looking at all of her accomplishments she has earned at such a young age, you can really tell that Brown is going places, but right now we get to have her at CHS.
