What inspired you to become an officer within CHS9 HOSA?
My interest in medicine and how much I loved to communicate with people. It is one of my lifetime goals to become a doctor or to work in the medical field, and this was a great step for it by working with people and being in a leadership position.
What initially interested you in the world of health science?
Humanity. I feel like it is really interesting to know how the human body works anatomy-wise. There is so much that goes on in our lives that allows us to breathe and circulate. I feel like it is a big part of that. I want to know how all of that works and the basics of it.
What are some qualities a HOSA officer should have?
You need to be responsible, to command and work well with others. Teamwork is a big part in being able to communicate with people.
What are some highlights about working with your peers in HOSA?
While working, you get to know people better. You get to know what their motives and interests are. We are able to work as a team and act like we are one. You build better connections by working with peers and we all share HOSA as something we want to be a part of, so we already have something to start off with.
Why should people care about HOSA?
Medicine is a really important pathway, and HOSA is the start to our generation in medicine. I think a lot of people should care because it is that beginning pathway to the future of the world and what it looks like in healthcare.
How does it feel knowing you represent Coppell?
It feels amazing. I feel like I am able to do a lot. A lot of people trust me, and I am able to build trust in my peers. I think I can change our entire organization in a positive way and leave an impact.
