On Friday, the Coppell girls basketball team lost to Denton Guyer, 63-38, at Coppell High School Arena.
The Cowgirls trailed the Wildcats at the end of each quarter.
Coppell coach Ravyn Terry discussed bringing the talents of the team into better coherence.
“We’ve got to find some consistency and be a little more cohesive as a team,” Terry said. “Instead of playing individual basketball we’ve got to get everybody involved.”
Although the Cowgirls trailed the Wildcats, freshman point guard Avary Campbell caught a pass from senior small forward and shooting guard Sarah Mirza and scored with 13 seconds remaining on the clock, claiming Coppell’s last points in the first quarter, 16-8.
Coppell freshman shooting guard Amber Coffey caught a pass over Guyer senior guard Brae’a Dozier and freshman shooting guard and small forward Charlie Morgan, scoring two points within the last minute of the game, 61-38.

“We didn’t give up when we were down by 20-plus points,” senior guard Landry Sherrer said. “Basketball is always up and down so we try to not ride the wave of our emotions.”
Coppell plays at Little Elm on Tuesday at 5:45 p.m.
