CHS9 freshman Philip Fordjour is a 2023-24 Student Council executive officer. Fordjour plans to learn the process of leading and organizing a team.
Why did you run for the executive officer position?
At first it was because my friend, [CHS9 student] Kohen Liu, was telling me about the position. After diving deeper into it, I realized it was something I’d be interested in because it would be nice to do things that are more impactful at CHS9.
What extracurricular activities are you involved in?
I play football and basketball and run track. I also own a cookie business called Covet Cookies.
What is your favorite part about being a student council officer?
Seeing how other students react to what we do in student council. It’s great to see my peers appreciate what we do for the school. We organize things like food drives, pep rallies and we were also in a parade. I also enjoy how we get to try out every student council position so we can find out which one suits us best.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
I would’ve graduated college. I see myself in medical school, but I’m not sure where my cookie business is going to increase there.
How do you want to be remembered as an executive officer?
I want people to remember that spreading kindness is important to me because it can positively impact others.
