Got You Covered is a series from The Sidekick detailing events involving Coppell High School and Coppell ISD happening this week. It will be posted every Monday for the remainder of the 2023-24 school year.
  • On Tuesday, Coppell City Council meets at 7:30 p.m. in the council chambers at Town Center.
  • Coppell Arts Center hosts the Texas House District 115 Public Education Candidate Forum on Tuesday from 6-7:30 p.m. The event is open to the public and more information can be found here.
  • From Thursday to Saturday, Coppell DECA is competing at the Texas State Career Development Conference at the Marriott Marquis in Houston. 
  • On Friday, Coppell ISD is closed for a Professional Development: staff workday and student holiday. 
  • On Saturday, Coppell Cozby Library & Community Commons hosts a Black History Month celebration from 2:30-3 p.m.

Sahasra Chakilam is a senior and the Executive News Editor of The Sidekick. She joined The Sidekick after watching Gilmore Girls and being inspired by Rory Gilmore’s work ethic and passion for journalism. Through the program, she has been able to develop a love for storytelling and connect with her community on a deeper level through reporting.  Outside of The Sidekick, she enjoys consuming all sorts of media. Her favorite music genres are R&B and indie pop, she has rewatched Crazy Rich Asians and How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days maybe 15 times and cannot ever pass on a 2000s teen drama.
