On Tuesday night, the Coppell girls basketball team defeated Lewisville, 76-51, in its third District 6-6A game at CHS Arena.
“They are focusing on making good shots, rebounding and consistency,” Coppell coach Ryan Murphy said.
Coppell led, 38-16, at the half behind the rebounding of junior Kennedy Paul and assists from senior Ella Spiller.
Starting the third quarter, Spiller dominated while the Cowgirls were getting multiple second chances from offensive rebounds. The third quarter ended on a high note with Paul scoring on Coppell’s last possession to make the score, 60-35.
Junior Landry Sherrer had a nice game by driving to the basket for the Cowgirls.
“I feel like we executed our game plan really well,” Paul said. “We were looking out for each other in transitions and passing up a good shot for a great shot.”
