Got You Covered is a series from The Sidekick detailing events involving Coppell High School and Coppell ISD happening this week. It will be posted every Monday for the remainder of the 2023-24 school year.
  • All Coppell ISD campuses and buildings are closed today for a district holiday.
  • CISD begins the second marking period on Tuesday.
  • On Tuesday, Coppell City Council meets at 7:30 p.m. in the council chambers at Town Center.
  • CISD hosts the Homecoming Parade on Wednesday on Parkway Blvd. at 6 p.m. The theme for the parade is “Y2K ’23: GOT that HoCo stuck on REPLAY!”
  • Coppell High School hosts the Homecoming Dance on Saturday from 7-11 p.m. in CHS Arena.

Sahasra Chakilam is a senior and the executive news editor of The Sidekick. She joined The Sidekick after watching “Gilmore Girls” and being inspired by Rory Gilmore’s work ethic and passion for journalism. Through the program, she has been able to develop a love for storytelling and connect with her community on a deeper level through reporting.  Outside of The Sidekick, she enjoys consuming all sorts of media. Her favorite music genres are R&B and indie pop, she has rewatched Crazy Rich Asians and How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days maybe 15 times and cannot ever pass on a 2000s teen drama.

When she’s not creating a design or trying to learn everything there is to know about Adobe InDesign and Illustrator, you can find her playing various videogames on her Xbox and mourning the loss of her 2008 Wii.
