TLC’s Cake Boss celebrity Buddy Valastro will open the first ever Texas location of Carlo’s Bakery on Saturday. The ribbon cutting will occur at 8:30 a.m. at the new Dallas location, located at 8319 Preston Road. Valastro and his wife Grace will be at the opening.

The first bakery opened in 1910 in Buddy’s hometown of New Jersey, gaining popularity from the TV show Cake Boss. Valastro’s cake design was voted as the Best Cake in America by The Today Show’s audience, and his work has been publicized in many publications.

Residents located around the Dallas-metroplex will now be able to order Valastro’s sweet treats and have them delivered to their doorstep. Other locations include New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Florida.

“Opening Carlo’s Bakery in Dallas will be a really cool addition to the city,” Coppell High School junior Megan Brownrigg said. “New Jersey is really far away so many people haven’t gotten to go and experience the bakery, so opening one in Dallas will give people that opportunity. It will also help Carlo’s Bakery’s sales, as Dallas is a heavily populated and a huge entertainment hub.”
