Over the Coppell ISD winter break, construction on Speedy K was completed, revealing upgraded
Wednesday, Dec. 23 was the last day of construction for many community members’ regular gas station and convenience store. The upgraded and improved pumps opened for business on Dec. 24.
For six weeks preceding Christmas Eve, the Speedy K gas station on the intersection of Moore Road and Sandy Lake Road was under construction.
Large chunks of land were unearthed and the area was surrounded by metal fencing.
According to part-owner Mike Fahim, new underground gas tanks were installed, introducing diesel fuel to the small gas station.
“We did it for the good of our customers,” Fahim said. “[Diesel] was highly requested.”
Also installed were new pumps, a new canopy over the gas station, new signage and LED lights within the store and outside in the parking lot.
There are also plans to wash down the parking lot and repaint the faded stripes that separate parking spaces.
