Overtime losses can definitely hurt, yet they can also help you turn the hurt onto the next opponent. That is exactly what the Coppell Cowboys basketball team will look to do against the Grapevine Mustangs Tuesday at 8 p.m. at Coppell High School.

Coppell faces off against the Grapevine Mustang, who, according to maxpreps.com, will be looking for their ninth win after a crushing 74-39 defeat against the Richardson Eagles.

Sophomore Robin Kim expects everyone to put in their best effort in tonight’s game.

“I expect us to come out and play to our full abilities, playing as hard as we can to get the win,” Kim said.

Kim also thinks that the overtime loss to Forney, 51-49, is something that they need to put behind them and that the Cowboys need to focus on getting the win tonight.

“The game is already in the past, so we have to just let it go,” Kim said. “Now we have to focus on getting the win against Grapevine and that will come with preparation and focus.”

Grapevine’s best player, Daniel Eibel, will be a force to contain as a 6 foot, 1 inch guard according to maxpreps.com. The Cowboys will look to contain him to win their fifth game of the season.

To get that fifth win, Kim thinks that the team as a whole needs to play together, and no individual necessarily will have to stand out.

“I do not really expect anybody to show out against Grapevine,” Kim said. “We are going to have to play as a team and get everybody involved to get the win.”
