Tonight, the Coppell Cowboys Basketball team came out firing against Denton Ryan, playing aggressively and effectively all game long.

With both teams running a full court press, there was no wiggle room for any player. It was strictly grab the ball, run with it and try to draw a foul. Both teams managed to drive to the basket in attempt to make a goal as well as to receive a slap on the hand to get two free throws.

Both Coppell and Ryan were fouling left and right, enabling them to score an excessive amount of points on free throws alone. None of the  players could drive the lane without running into someone, making it a game of “who can make two clean shots in a row.”

Senior Cody Carver drew multiple fouls tonight giving him many opportunities to score a few extra points for the Cowboys. Not many shots were taken from the outside by either team, but when they were, almost all were effective.

The Cowboys gained a huge lead very early on, leaving the game with a score of  44 to 22 at half time. The difference in the score remained constant throughout the game, keeping the Cowboys more relaxed, but fighting hard nonetheless.

No matter the score, Denton Ryan out-shined the Cowboys in rebounding. Coppell did not seem as aggressive under the boards as Ryan did. However, the Cowboys had a much stronger offense which enabled them to come out with a strong win of 64-43.
