Debate over synthetic marijuana reaches new levels

By Annie Wen
Staff Writer

Teenagers are no strangers to the temptation of marijuana. However, marijuana is no longer the only concern: a synthetic marijuana, known as “Spice” or “K2” can be found on shelves in stores and has proven to be an even bigger problem than marijuana. A Texas girl has narrowly escaped death after smoking synthetic marijuana bought from a convenience store. Left brain damaged and blind 17 year old Emily Bauer has spent the pass few months fighting for her life. In the past two weeks she has started to move her arms and legs and is eating solid food again. Parents and teenagers alike should read this and become more familiar with the dangers of synthetic marijuana. Whatever choice you make in your life is up to you, but it’s best to be fully educated before making a decision that could harm you or your life.
