On Sept. 28, students from across CISD accompanied Superintendent Dr. Jeff Turner to Austin for the annual joint conference of the Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA) and the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB).
As acting president of TASA for this year, Dr. Turner was allowed time during the opening night of the conference to do something to showcase his district. Months of preparation by students, teachers and administrators went into preparing this year’s show.
The show, entitled “Leave it to Coppell,” incorporated CHS cheerleaders, Lariettes, theatre members, Vivace! singers, and middle school and elementary performers. The full performance was done at convocation, and a performance was done at the high school the week before the trip. Now, a video of the performance is available online for all who did not get the chance to see it in person.
