Fall breezes bring Oak Fest

By Corrina Taylor
Staff Writer

With the cool breezes of fall on its way the annual Oak Fest on Oct.  20, this family friendly event features many fun activities for people of all ages. Including bands, bounce houses, mini train rides and face painting. This year some of the artists include Maiden Texas and Emerald City.

There will also be a Haunted Mile, sponsored by the Coppell Chamber of Commerce. This year it features activities such as a costume contest which begins at 3 pm. (when the Fest starts).

There will be plenty of food provided including BBQ sandwiches, turkey legs, hot dogs, and funnel cakes. There is room for picnics if families want to bring their own food or they can purchase food from the stands with cash. Since this is a kid friendly environment alcohol is prohibited.

The event is free and starts at 3 pm. And is open until 10 pm. There is sure to be a lot of fun at this year’s Oak Fest, so grab your family and grab a jacket and head on down for the fun!
