Fraudulence becomes an issue in Coppell

By Jay Carroll
Staff Writer

Members of the Coppell Chamber of Commerce, were warned about the increase in computer fraudulence of not only adults, but kids as well.  The members were also told what they can do in order to avoid becoming a victim of computer fraud.

People can prevent fraud by refusing to give their credit card information to people over the phone, those are usually just schemes. Another very popular way that thieves are getting a hold of credit card information is by dumpster diving, where they will look for anything with account information and credit card numbers. A way you can prevent your information from being stolen is to shred all of your bank statements, receipts or anything with account information on it before you throw it in the trash can.
