Bickham not bickering about upperclassman status

While the temperature is still soaring over a hundred degrees and being up before 10:00 a.m. is still exhausting, summer is over and school is back in session.  Even though I am not particularly thrilled to be back to work (especially with two hours of homework on the first day), I am happy to finally be back in D115, writing away for The Sidekick!

One of the few things I am excited about this year is being an upperclassman.  The idea of being a junior

is exciting, but being a junior also means having the busiest, craziest time of your high school years.  So far I am already almost drowning in homework and the first week isn’t even over yet.  Luckily, I have one class where I can actually enjoy myself, and that class is newspaper.

After having a great experience last year, I decided to continue with newspaper this year as well, even if it meant quitting band after five years of being involved in the program.  So far, I’m happy with my choice and have had quite a bit more free time without it.  While last year I was only a staff writer, this year, I decided to try page designing as well (we’ll see how that goes).

So good luck CHS and I hope everyone has an awesome year! I know I’m looking forward to mine.
