Coppell to begin water conservation

By Jay Carroll
Staff Writer

The City of Coppell has received an abundance of rain over the past few months, enough, in fact, to cause an overflow in local lakes. However, the City of Coppell will reinstate a Stage 1 water restriction for residents.

Stage 1, will be annually reinstated from May 15 to Sep. 15. This is in compliance to the City of Dallas’ Drought Contingency Plan; the goal of this plan is to reach a 5% reduction in water use, due to the drought conditions is some local areas.

This restriction prohibits residents from watering their lawns from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (residents however, can still hand water their plants and lawns).
