Gas prices on the rise

By Lauren VerDuin
Staff Writer

It is no secret that at this time of the year Americans dread the gas pump. The summer is almost upon us and gas prices are already beginning to elevate. Saturday, President Obama announced that there is no real “quick fix” to current high gas prices, as concern continues to take over America.  Obama stated that we are drilling more, but it does not seem to be the answer to this issue; alternative energy seems to be this answer. Increased investments in these forms of energy are sure to bring change and not only lower gas prices, but allow us to become a more independent country altogether.

If we choose not to pour more money into this research, America will only continue to see higher prices and be more dependent on the Middle East.

From old to new drivers, students at Coppell High School are among those to be affected. Get your bikes ready CHS, or be prepared to pay as much as $5.25 a gallon before you take that trip to Bahama Bucks.
