Seniors learn to defend their ground

By Kara Adkins

With seniors beginning to plan out their college decisions for next year and where they will end up going, CHS is trying to take steps to prepare the senior class for their new independence.

One step Coppell takes is Senior Self Defense classes. These classes provide senior girls the opportunity to learn techniques to help protect themselves in dangerous situations. With college just around the corner, it is vital for girls in particular to know how to defend themselves in uncomfortable situations.

These classes will begin when students return from the winter break. The first class will be held on Jan. 18 from 6pm-9pm at the Coppell Middle School East gym. This course is free and is available every Wednesday night from then on.
