Coppell prepares for Earthfest on April 30th

Henna Khan
Business Manager

The city of Coppell is hosting their annual Earthfest event on April 30 where residents will have the opportunity to participate in several environmentally friendly activities.

Those who attend, particularly residents off Coppell, can dispose of their old electronics, shred household documents, dispose of their large trash items and donate their usable household goods.

The annual “Clean Up, Fix Up” drive-through collection will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 30 in the parking lot of Town Center Elementary School, located at 185 N. Heartz Road.

Metrocrest Social Services will be on hand to collect donations of usable household goods and clothing; Brink’s Document Destruction will be offering their free shredding services for household documents; and residents can discard their bulky trash items in dumpsters provided by Waste Management.

Household hazardous waste, paint, appliances containing freon, construction debris and yard trimmings will not be accepted at the event.

Similar to the “Clean Up, Fix Up” event, Coppell High School is hosting their annual Sustainability Expo on Friday, April 29 throughout the school day. Students will rotate through different stations that will teach them how to live sustainably.

Coppell is headed in a “green” direction by informing residents of how to treat the environment we live in.
