Like many other seniors, I am being pushed by my parents to find as many scholarships as possible. It’s a daunting task, but it is made easier with a few tips.
First of all, use Naviance to your advantage. The counselors set it up for a reason: it’s really helpful. A bunch of scholarships you might be eligible for are just a few clicks away from the school website, and some of them don’t even require an essay or a recommendation letter. Many of the deadlines have passed and the others are fast approaching, so if you are interested in any of the scholarships, check soon.
There are also alternative sites you can use to look for more specific scholarships that may pertain to race or religion, etc. Fastweb.com is one such website, where you submit information about yourself and receive many scholarship options.
Just know, fellow seniors, even though we’re all receiving our acceptance letters and deciding where we’re going, doesn’t mean the college admission process is totally over. Keep up with your scholarships. Don’t let a good shot at some help slip away.
