Recently, I was sick with bronchitis. So while I was bored at home I got to thinking about something that has really bothered me for a long time. The problem with Coppell’s make up work policy.
Now let me say that this is not a rant just because I had make up work to do recently, this is something, like I said earlier, that has bothered me for a long time.
When you are sick, you are hurting, so when you finally feel better you do not want more hurt but Coppell’s make up work policy doesn’t seem to help this.
So what is its problem? However many days you missed is the number of days you have to complete the make up work when you come back.
What I don’t understand, along with others, is how this is fair if you have a lot of homework assigned on the day you get back along with the make-up work, which may include studying for make up tests you have to take the next day. That could be one insane night of studying and homework that you may never be able to complete on time! How are you supposed to get this done?
I say they change the rule. I say have the amount of time you have to make up your work the amount of days you missed doubled. This would reduce much of the stress students have when they come back from missing a day.
I don’t know if this has happened or even been discussed but hopefully now this will be the start of a much needed change.
