Kindles revolutionize reading

Laura Kattilakoski
Staff Writer

There is something a bit special about cracking open a brand new book, taking in the smells of the ink on paper, and cuddling up under a pile of covers while flipping through its pages. This being said, it has become increasingly apparent that iPod apps, such as the Kindle, have been gaining popularity in recent months.  Nothing against Kindles, anything to get some of those ‘anti-book’ technology-based people reading, right? I just hope books never completely disappear from our society.

Technological developments, such as the Kindle, seem to be quenching the world of its simple pleasures. Like anyone else, I enjoy using my computer, cell phone and iPod. However, it would be great if the world would just forget the fancy new toys and gadgets and take some time to appreciate those aspects of life that cannot be replicated in the lab.
