Morning bomb threat leads to evacuation, early dismissal

Coppell High School students and faculty on Wednesday morning near the fine arts building and Buddy Echols Field, waiting for further instructions from Principal Laura Springer. CHS students and staff evacuated around 8:20 a.m. due to a bomb threat. As a result, students who did not drive themselves to school were transported to CHS9 for parent pickup as school was released for the day.

At 8:20 a.m. Wednesday, Coppell ISD announced a bomb threat at Coppell High School.

Students and faculty on campus were evacuated and sheltered behind Buddy Echols Field.

According to CHS Principal Laura Springer, student drivers were able to leave campus, while the others were transported to Coppell High School Ninth Grade Campus. CHS9 and New Tech High @ Coppell students present at CHS, returned to their home campuses for the remainder of the day.

Parents and guardians picked up students from CHS9. 

By Wednesday afternoon, teachers and staff were able to re-enter the building.
