On Monday, the Coppell Recreation Development Corporation held its November meeting. The CRDC is dedicated to the development and management of various public infrastructure projects funded by the 0.5% sales tax imposed on sales within Coppell’s boundaries.
After the meeting was called to action, the board addressed the citizens’ appearance. If requested ahead of time, citizens were allowed the opportunity to address any matter to the board or commission. For Monday’s meeting, no citizens sought time to speak, allowing the meeting to proceed to its next focus.
The board unanimously approved the minutes from its Sept. 22 meeting. The following course of action involved the approval of the 2024-2025 Annual Report, which encompasses the financial expenditures of the CRDC and their progress.
The CRDC discussed developments, including the remodeling of public restrooms.
“Part of the restroom remodel is making sure those are fully accessible since we are putting the all abilities playground right there, we need to make sure the restrooms are very accessibility friendly,” director of community experiences Jessica Carpenter said.
The board confirmed the completion of trail, sidewalks and seam repairs. Discussion of Wagon Wheel Trail lighting was postponed until the next CRDC meeting.
After discussion regarding the various projects, the board unanimously approved the 2024-2025 Annual Report.
To conclude, the board approved the rescheduling of the Jan. 19 meeting.
Due to Coppell ISD extending their breaks along with other independent school districts, the next meeting was postponed to January. While the typical meeting date for the CRDC falls on the third Monday of each month, it lands on Martin Luther King Jr. Day in January. The board ultimately decided to postpone the meeting by an additional week, setting it to Jan. 26.
