On the Record: CHS9 leadership empower themselves to lead students

CHS9 is in its seventh year and its facilities have grown exponentially over time. As CHS9 continues to develop, so have Career and Technical Education service organizations such as DECA, HOSA and TSA. With this growth comes students who are interested in leadership positions and aim to create an environment for students to pursue their passions. 

In this episode of On the Record, The Sidekick staff member Vidya Praveen speaks with CHS9 DECA officer Diya Tara, TSA treasurer Kushi Salga and HOSA president Vidhisha Paleti to discuss why they wanted to be leaders and what it is like being in leadership apart from Coppell High School.

Vidya Praveen is a sophomore and a first-year staff photographer for The Sidekick. She joined The Sidekick because she was interested in photography and wanted to have the opportunity to practice it.  Vidya loves to go shopping and watching movies, and TV shows. Currently her favorite movie is Avatar, and her favorite show is “On My Block.” Vidya also enjoys listening to music. Sabah Uddin
Sabah Uddin, Communications Manager
Sabah Uddin is a senior and the Communications Manager for The Sidekick. Her favorite part of being in The Sidekick is being able to cover events and meet people she never would’ve known before. Through The Sidekick she has gotten to step out of her comfort zone in discovering sports photography and feature writing. When she’s not covering an event for The Sidekick or competing with the Coppell High School DECA chapter, you can find her exploring new restaurants and cafes.
